Middle Hampton, New York was a wealthy community in the Hamptons. Mr. Gilchrist was a member of the city council.

Wally West purchased a mansion here after winning the lottery. The residents, however, did not appreciate the attention having a super-powered resident might bring them. Wally's battle with Speed Demon resulted in the destruction of a fuel depot that cost the city $250,000 and resulted in rising liability insurance premiums. The city council asked Wally to leave.

However, after Wally captured Chunk, who was responsible for a robbery at the city's art gallery, the city's opinion of Wally became much more friendly and more willing to work things out.
