Synopsis for "Foul Play"

Midnighter sees Kid Mindy to find any information about Anthem, a paramilitary-like security force which is governing Harmony from behind the scene. He then visit a printing company to print his calling card and again find himself in a metahuman attack caused by a tentacle being. Midnighter changes into his costume and attacks the tentacles belong to a possessed homeless man. He kills the man, but only for whatever possessing him to go into a woman, identifying itself as "Draggletail".

Meanwhile, Mindy begins her research on Anthem from it's website which she discovers to be a highly, technological American security organization which acts as a first response against random, metahuman violence/events while enacting its Bellwether operatives to enforce regional control and stringently uphold American ideals and values.

Midnighter continues to fight Draggletail. He then learns that there is no way to safely remove the being from it's host, he defeats Draggletail by teleporting it into space through shift-door. Thereafter, news agencies focusing on the Midnighter's fight which had left collateral damages and leading some reporters to criticize the vigilante and metahumans generally for having no regards for normal human beings. Midnighter watches the transpiring news from Mindy's hideout. Mindy shares her concerns that it isn't coincidental that the news so happens to cover Midnighter and shows him from her computer that he is being targeted. This lead to their suspicions that Anthem has orchestrated the battle to incense the public's fear on metahumans and relying more on Anthem. Mindy ask Midnighter to come back another day as she continues to hack her way into Anthem.

Midnighter returns to Harmony as Lucas Trent at the site of it's previous battle scene. He is met with Brian and Amanda Dorsett. The couple express their gratitude for Anthem for saving their town. It is learn from them that Saunders, Kansas had a similar event in Harmony and was destroyed by metahumans.
