It's pure speculation but...could we possibly be looking at Batman's aerial Bat-plane?! Dubbed "Batwing," this very Transformer-ish cruiser certainly looks like it's designed to fly!

According to MTV News:

"The aircraft appears to utilize fan-driven engines and be made of a series of interlocking plates, indicating that the ship may have some sort of shape-shifting quality. Such a transformational vehicle wouldn't be out of place in Nolan's Gotham City; in the "Dark Knight," part of Batman's Tumbler turned out to contain a hidden Batpod. A YouTube video from set shows the Batwing being driven down a street during the shoot, its massive body gyrating back and forth, a Batman dummy placed in the cockpit."
