Synopsis for "Nothing But Time"
Nightwing was lying unconscious in Blackgate Penitentiary after Lock-Up attacked him from behind. Lock-Up told the Trigger Twins to carry him down to the hole where all the other inmates were being held. One of them tried to unmask Nightwing but Lock-Up prevented that from happenning. When the Twins were about to drop Nightwing in the hole, they searched his suit looking for Batarangs or any other weapons Nightwing had; but the suit protection system was enabled and they received an electric shock. The Twins were mad and kicked Nightwing while he was down and then they threw him to the hole.
After a while, Nightwing recovered and he realized that he was surrounded by all of the Blackgate inmates. At once, Nightwing started to fight all of them at the same time. His acrobatic skills helped him to reach the ceiling bars were he was looking for a way out of the hole but on top of him was KGBeast who forced Nightwing down again. Jonathan Crane, a.k.a. The Scarecrow talked to the inmates and told them that Nightwing's presence might be helpful for them. Garfield Lynns opposed to that idea and wanted to kill Nightwing as revenge for his burned skin. Black Mask was in favor of keeping Nightwing alive and so the inmates were divided in two groups and they started to fight each other.
Meanwhile in Bludhaven, Chief Redhorn granted Nite-Wing access to his personal files and records on the most prominent criminals in Bludhaven. Redhorn offered Nite-Wing the chance to work for him as his personal vigilante and Nite-Wing accepted the offer gladly. Elsewhere, Blockbuster was looking at the options for his heart transplant and when his mother listened what has happenning, Blockbuster told her the truth. She was devastated.
Back in Blackgate, the inmates were killing each other and The Ventriloquist talked to them and made them understand that Nightwing was their best option for getting out of there. Lock-Up and his men were worried for Nightwing's presence and they searched the prison looking for Batman. They found nothing and Lock-Up was even more concerned. He asked Elmo Galvan's opinion and the man just laughed at them.
Lock-Up tried to speak to Nightwing down in the hole, but The Mad Hatter told him that Steeljacket killed Nightwing and ate him. Tetch showed Lock-Up a skull as a proof. Lock-Up was convinced and Nightwing's plan was working. The inmates were gathered around Nightwing expecting him to come up with the next step of the plan. Nightwing looked at the place and noticed that the walls were filled with gunpowder. The cellar was used as storage for weapons and the walls contained amounts of gunpowder. Nightwing told the prisoners to start taking as much gunpowder as possible from the walls and he was expecting that it would be enough to blow up one of the walls.
Lock-Up was really worried now that he thought that Nightwing was dead. He knew that Batman would show up any moment soon and he didn't wanted the inmates getting the chance of freedom. Lock-Up decided that it was time to sentence all of them to their deaths.
