History

Nikolai Latikov was chosen by the Guardians of the Universe, the creators of the Green Lantern Corps, who planned to create their successors, a race of new Guardians on Earth. One of the Guardians and a Zamaron, the Guardians' female counterparts, intended to choose ten individuals who they would teach about the nature of the cosmos and endow with immortality and metahuman powers. One of these was Nikolai Latikov. Before he could realize his destiny, he was murdered by fellow KGB agents. Latikov can still be seen in Dreamtime by the New Guardian Betty Clawman.
