History
Born to Kherubim warriors Zealot and John Colt, Nikolas was raised in a foster home in Serbia to protect him from his parent's enemies. As a young boy growing up in cold Siberia, Nikolas Kamarov saw gymnastics as his way out. After great effort and struggle, he achieved the first step toward his dreams: a position on the Soviet Olympic team. After discovering how the rest of the world lived, his regard for the Soviet State turned to deep resentment. But an unsuccessful attempt to defect placed him in the hands of Moscow authorities and at the mercy of an impending judgment.
He was forced to join the Soviet Spetsnaz. After becoming hardened by the horrors of his service, Nikolas was wounded during the ill-fated occupation of Afghanistan. Oddities in his medical records attracted the attention of Stormwatch, the United Nation's superhuman response team, and shortly thereafter the United Nations took the opportunity to activate Kamarov's powers and bring him into Stormwatch.
Heritage
Unbeknownst to Winter he is the son of former Team One members Zealot and John Colt. It wasn't until the oracle Providence told Zealot she would would be reunited with her long lost child. When confronted with Winter after he arrives on a U.N. Stormwatch transport, she sees his hair and hears his russian accent, and realizes him to be her son, but she doesn't tell him.
Death & Rebirth
Working with Stormwatch for so many years, he was finally promoted to field leader of Stornwatch Prime. When Skywatch becomes overrun with aliens. Winter pilots the orbital platform into the sun to kill the aliens. However his powers allowed him to survive, he became apart of the sun. His experience made him insane and he wanted to destroy the earth. The Authority were then forced to imprison him inside the sun.
Sometime after The Authority's new Doctor informs Jackson King that he can do what his predecessor could not and return Winter to life. He brings Winter's soul into a slightly younger cloned body. Winter's soul was also tethered to his dead teammates; Fahrenheit, Fuji, and Hellstrike. Bringing him back also brought them back. After examining Fahrenehit memories telepathically, he sees a shadowy figure that appears to be a Monitor telling her that the four will be needed.
Worlds End
WInter along with his team mates are one of the few operating forces helping the humans left alive after armageddon.Powers and Abilities
Powers
Kherubim Physiology: Kherubim resemble humans in appearance, but are physically far stronger and more durable and extremely long-lived, nearly immortal. However an evolutionary drawback to their near-immortality is that Kherans are almost infertile, only very rarely will a Kheran produce offspring. This effect is seen in real world natural environments, as longer living organisms will have fewer offspring than organisms with short lifespans. This is a natural check against overpopulation.
- Immortality: Like all Kherubim, Winter has virtually an unending lifespan. He will most likely live for centuries or longer. To a non-Kheran, he seems virtually un-aging and unchanging over the centuries. The exact lifespan of a Kherubim is undetermined. At the same time he will not exhibit any signs of growing old and likely won't for centuries to come.
- Enhanced Healing: Heals more rapidly.
- Superhuman Durability: As a full blooded Kherubim, Winter has a high level of durability and endurance that, while not invulnerable is still extremely tough compared to the typical human and S.P.B. It would take armored piercing bullets to have a serious effect on him as normal bullets, while they would hurt, would not stop him. The degree of this, like endurance, varies from Kherubim to Kherubim just as it does from human to human. Zealot, who has trained virtually the whole of her immortal life in the arts of combats and physical toughness, likely has a higher endurance then Savant and Emp. Even so, the pure tide of Kherubim blood is powerful indeed. His endurance is high enough to allow him to endure extreme pain due to the sun's plasma. Though his powerful abilities and vast energy absorption may be the reason for this as well.
- Superhuman Strength: As a Kherubim, Winter possesses a high degree of strength. The level of it is likely under that of Zealot's yet still far above a human.
Energy Absorption: Winter is an energy absorber capable of absorbing heat or rechanneling energy directed at him, including kinetic energy and radiation.
- Strength Enhancement: He can use this energy to convert it to physical strength.
- Durability Enhancement: He also been shown to increase his body's durability (to the point of being able to survive in space unaided).
- Healing Enhancement: Ee can use his energy stores to heal more rapidly then normal.
- Flight: He can fly at high speeds.
- Energy Blasts: He has the ability to rechannel the energy he absorbs for his own energy blasts.
- Energy Tracking: He is able to track the energy signatures of machines and other energy wielders.
Abilities
Expert Tactician: Winter has had extensive training in military tactics during his time with the Russian Special Forces.
Expert Combatant: As a former member of Russian Special Forces, he is highly trained in combat as well as to kill on the first strike.
Expert Gymnast: a highly trained Olympic-level gymnast.Weaknesses
Energy Absorption Limitation: There is a limit to how much energy Winter can absorb, after which point he will begin to take damage. His merging with the sun indicates that Winter might be able to surpass his limits though being part of the sun did cause him great pain and eventual insanity.

Notes
- Winter is apparently the long lost child of Zealot and Yohn Kohl (John Colt) born in the 1930's
- Winter has also had experience leading a superteam, and Jackson King once said, "We're not big on the popular term "superhero" here at StormWatch, but if there's a finer hero on this planet than Nikolas Kamarov here, they're either lying or Jesus."
