HistoryEdit

Norman McCay is an elderly, retired reverend who lives with his wife in Chicago, Illinois. The Superman from the dimensional reality dubbed Earth-22 knew the Norman McCay of his dimension, who warned him of a coming metahuman war that would destroy all reality. The Earth-22 McCay's vision came to pass, and Superman was the only being to survive its destruction. Superman came to the New Earth reality and became a member of the Justice Society of America. He learned that another Norman McCay lived in this reality and went to visit his church in Chicago. Superman told him of the other McCay's visions, and Norman provided Superman with words of hope and inspiration.

• Norman McCay's physical likeness in all realities is based upon that of Reverend Clark Ross, the father of DC Comics artist Alex Ross.
