The Flame, underestimating Doll Man src

Mr. Northcross sold off three halves of his circus to his employees, then murdered two of them before they could compare notes. Doll Man stopped him before he could murder the third performer.

Northcross owned a circus, until he faked his own death by murdering a performer and swapping their clothes. Northcross adopted a secret identity, as "The Flame," wearing an asbestos bodysuit coated with fuel. He then murdered another of his own performers, in mid-circus, in a spectacularly gruesome fashion. He attempted to murder a third performer, but was thwarted by the Doll Man, whom he attempted to fight on a high-wire platform, from which he fell to his death.

It was revealed by Doll Man that Northcross had sold half-interest shares in his circus to three different performers, two of whom he managed to murder before he met the Doll Man.

  • This version of the Flame, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
