According to legend, Thanagar was plagued by seven demons, early in the planet. None was as feared as demon Onimar Synn. The legendary hero Kalmoran decided to face it, having defeated Onimar Synn, he holds it in a Cage of Nth Metal in the underground of the planet where they remained for millennia. Countless years later, Thanagar grows stronger during his arrest, but ends up being devastated in a war with Tormocks. During reconstruction, Synn emerges from the depths and killing the entire Council. He then begins its occupation of the planet, gaining control over most of Nth Metal possible. Through psychoreactive properties of the metal, Synn gains control over the metal, as also the knowledge about the breeds of Thanagar. The Thanagarians natives and as the other races that form dominated by Thanagar opposes the regime Onimar, they seek a champion to win it. The priests carry Kendra Saunders to the planet, she resuscitates Carter Hall, with the help of his companions to Justice Society of America. Onimar Synn transforms Justice Society into zombies,Hawkman armed with Claw of Horus,frees his friends from the powers of Synn. Onimar can only be defeated by Hawkman & Hawkgirl link through the Claw of Horus, which affects the Nth metal in your body.

Rann/Thanagar War

Onimar Synn returns during the Rann/Thanagar War. Aided by the faithful, to complete their plans of conquest. However, he is defeated by a coalition of heroes. Adam Strange uses Zeta-bombs and divided into seven parts, carrying to the center of a galaxy apart, so that he could never return again.
