After giving Bulldozer and the other troops in Easy Co. lectures about obeying his orders, Rock gets a taste of his own medicine when commanding officer Looie shows up and takes command of the unit and starts giving Rock orders he doesn't totally agree with.

After one instance where Rock disobeys orders in order to save the Looie from some Nazi gunmen, the C.O. is furious and intends to reprimand Rock and take his stripes away. However, when their next mission takes them in the sights of a Nazi tank hiding in a cave, with the help of Bulldozer and the men of Easy Co. Rock and Looie manage to destroy the tank and escape with only minor injuries.

Following this moment, both Rock and Looie learn a lesson that a commanding officer should listen to his subordinates input, and Looie decides not to demote Rock after all.
