History
Peggy Allen was a policewoman who, for reasons that were never clearly stated, decided to put on a costume and a mask and fight crime as Woman in Red. Whatever her motivations were, she became the first female science hero on Terra Obscura. Like most other Terra Obscura science heroes, she was placed in suspended animation after a failed attempt to stop an alien invasion - a state of affairs that persisted until 2004.
Peggy began her costumed crime-fighting career without any powers, but sometime after Terra Obscura version of World War II, she discovered a mysterious ruby crystal that gave her the ability to fly and shoot energy. However, prolonged use caused her skin to turn red. Embarrassed by her unearthly pigmentation, she took to wearing a leather suit that covered her from head to toe. During the battle against Mystico, she was forced to shed her costume. This forced her to reconsider her self-image. After the battle ended, she decided to embrace her altered appearance and adopted a much more revealing green bathing suit as a science hero costume.
Trivia
Like virtually all major Terra Obscura characters, Peggy Allen was originally a Nedor Comics character who has since fallen into public domain. This means that she can be used by anyone, so long as they don't try to copy the version described in this Wiki (because it's copyrighted)
