Perry White was the editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet newspaper in Metropolis, for which Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen had worked. Perry had a son named Peregrine White, Jr. who went into politics and became mayor of Metropolis. Perry died sometime during the 1960s from cancer due to his cigar smoking, as alluded to by Lois Lane to her daughter Kara Kent.

  • This version of the character is native to the Superman & Batman: Generations series of stories, appearing mostly as a behind-the-scenes character.
