Synopsis for "No. 13 Thirteenth Street!"
Mr. Square, Wild Rose, Spartacus, and Attila are once more looking for a place to crash for the night, and witness what appears to be ghost activity at house number 13 on Thirteenth Street, which is owned by two old women. When they go in to investigate they also draw the attention of Phantom Stranger and Dr. Thirteen. Naturally, Phantom Stranger believes it to be a supernatural occurrence, while Thirteen dismisses it as another hoax. To support their claims, both tell everyone gathered stories of similar occurrences that support their beliefs.
The Case of The Diabolical Deggs House:
Dr. Thirteen tells the tale of Degg's family who's house was apparently haunted after a series of strange, seemingly supernatural events. When Dr. Thirteen is called in to investigate, he proves that it is all a hoax: Revealing the "ghost" as Creepy Conway, a local boy who was spurned by the Degg's daughter. Conway created a series of special effects to try and frighten the Degg's family, and he had assistance from the Degg's son who was mad at his sister for getting all the attention in the family.
The Haunting of Drood Wood -- Or Give Me Back My Head!:
Phantom Stranger tells his story about David Drew Gorham, who's family has been cursed since one of his ancestors beheaded a man for romancing his daughter, because he felt that royalty should not be wed to a commoner. Since then the ghost would stalk and kill any of Gorham's descendants that would enter the Drood Wood.
One night while sleeping in his car as his wife drives them home from a party, David awakens to find that they are driving through the Drood Wood. Sure enough the ghost has come to kill Gorham unless he found his head. The Phantom Strange gets involved and shows the headless ghost that his head had been incorporated into the tombstone made for him as a final insult by Gorham's ancestor.
With their stories finished, Tala suddenly appears and after a brief battle with the Phantom Stranger, it is revealed that one of the old ladies has purposely made the house haunted with a spell book as revenge against her sister for always eating her favorite ice cream. With the book destroyed and the sister sequestered to her room, everyone (Except the Phantom Stranger who departs) sits down to ice cream, and find that they've all the ice cream on hand has been changed into pistachio ice cream, unaware that the sister had made copies of her spell book.
