General Phillip Darnell was a commanding officer in the military intelligence division of the U.S. Army in Washington, D.C..
History
Colonel Steve Trevor and Lieutenant Diana Prince worked directly for him, although that didn't stop Darnell from having a brotherly relationship with Trevor, as well as being secretly in love with Wonder Woman, not knowing she was Lt. Prince.[2]

- Phillip Darnell was originally introduced in Earth-Two continuity in All-Star Comics #8 by William Moulton Marston and Harry G. Peter. He first appeared in Earth-One continuity in Wonder Woman #99 by Robert Kanigher and Ross Andru.
- This version of General Darnell, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
