Synopsis for "Captain Stars & Sergeant Stripes"
Aristotle Rodor finds his old collection of comic books in the attic. Of particular note are the issues of "Captain Stars & Sergeant Stripes," drawn by his cousin Alvin.
At Rodor's, his cousin Alvin has arrived for a visit. Alvin tells a story of how he won World War II. He puts forth the theory that he and other comic book creators helped turn the tide of the war by creating comics where the allies were always triumphant. He relates his theory to the rituals of the aborigine tribes in the Congo, where they prepare for their hunt by drawing a picture of an animal in the dust. On the day of the hunt, one of the hunters shoots an arrow into the drawing. When the tribe came back from their hunt, they returned with the animal which was drawn and slain in the dirt. This happened with every hunt, with their arrows piercing the animal exactly as pictured.
After stopping numerous thugs, The Question returns to Rodor's house, where he meets Alvin and hears his theory. While listening, Sage asks Alvin to draw him a picture of Myra waking up from her coma.
