History

When the L.E.G.I.O.N. began to expand it's operations, they took applications from recruits from all over the Milky Way.

The recruits were split in to two categories:

  • "Standard Life forms," who were meant to serve in the civilian force
  • "Exotics and Mutates," who would be assigned to an elite squad.

These "R.E.C.R.U.I.T.S" were allowed to wear variations on the standard L.E.G.I.O.N. uniform.

One of the recruits Ig'nea was revealed as a spy working for her father the crime lord Maximillian G'odd, who succeeded in making Vril Dox II disband the L.E.G.I.O.N.

The R.E.C.R.U.I.T.S. attempted to carry on and formed their own team. This venture was a failure, but regardless, Ig'nea was defeated by the core team very soon and the L.E.G.I.O.N. was reactivated.

The rest of the recruits were fiercely loyal to each other and to the L.E.G.I.O.N. Perhaps because of this, many of this group were the first to fall prey to Lyrl Dox aka Brainiac 2 "enhanced charisma" mind control program. They became his elite foot soldiers of Vril Dox II son in the war against his parents father, and the other core members. The R.E.C.R.U.I.T.S.were eventually freed when Vril Dox II and Captain Comet found ways of overcoming the "enhanced charisma" mind control program buy shooting themselves which distracted them enough to defeat Lyrl..
