The Rangers, or also known from their informal nickname as "Tomahawk's Rangers", was a extraordinary band of soldiers who fought for American independence under the command of their eponymous leader Tomahawk during the American Revolutionary War.

History

The Rangers were considered an 18th century version of modern day commandos, and were sent on special missions for General George Washington's Continental Army. Commanding officers in that army would designate soldiers who demonstrated exceptional skill and bravery in action for membership in the Rangers.[1]

After the war, the Rangers has since been disbanded.

Trivia

  • Tomahawk's Rangers could be based on Rogers' Rangers, an independent company of colonial militia, attached to the British Army during the Seven Years War (or known as the French and Indian War in the United States).
