At one time, somewhere a young baby by the name of Jason Goldstein was or will be "shot", murdered by the time traveller Per Degaton a companied by the villains The Ultra-Humanite and Despero. The pressing question why he needed to be eliminated will be explained with the pretend that this incendent never happened.

Rex Hunter: The would be Time Master

For reasons yet to be explained, Jason Goldstein tracked down Rip Hunter and wished to join Rip's group of Time Masters. Jason adopted the name Rex Hunter to protect his identity. But Rex believed in a more proactive choice and instead of protecting the Timeline he broke it attempting to make it for the better. One of his actions was pushing a 10 year old Lex Luthor in front of a speeding train. Rip stopped him and kicked Jason out of the team before he was even a member.

As a form of revenge on Rip, Jason travelled in time reached into the crib of a baby and crushed the skull of Time Master Bonnie Baxter.

The Time Stealers

After he stole the Supernova suite Rex sprung Booster Golds father from prison in the 25th century. Manly because he had the genes to make the suite work. Together they planned to eliminate al the heroes from the time. And restore the world making Rex Hunter and Supernova the only heroes of Earth. On there list where Hal Jordan, Superman, The Flash, Batman and probably many more. There was one name Rex Hunter didn't put on his list Michael Jon Carter aka Booster Gold. The hero stopped the his first two attempt.
