History
Former acrobat Rickart Graustark changed his name to Richard Grayson and left the circus to fight crime with wealthy socialite Barbara Gordon, alias Batgirl, whom he had fallen in love with. Although he was killed by the Joker, his legacy was taken up by Bruce Wayne, who began calling himself Batman.
