Synopsis for "Flight from Eden"

The smitten Abel goes looking for Rima, wondering if he dreamt her. He finds a jaguar, poised to pounce on him when Rima appears. Rima is, of course, good friends with the jaguar, and it leaves them alone. Abel asks how Rima could talk to the jaguar, and Rima explains that "it is an understanding of sounds more than words." Rima explains how many years ago, her grandfather, Nuflo, brought her to the forest after her mother died. She grew up there, the animals came to accept her, and the birds taught her to sing. Rima walks Abel to her hut so he can recover and gives him a kiss goodnight. Abel dreams about her. Abel is woken by Nuflo leaving, and decides to follow him. Abel finds Nuflo cooking meat. Nuflo explains that he must do it in secret becuase Rima does not eat meat nor allows him to trap animals for food, and he dares not anger her. Abel and Nuflo return to the hut to find Rima, whom is upset becuase she knows that the've been eating meat. Abel decides to head back to the nearby Indian village. One of the Indians, Runi, is very surprised that Abel made it back alive. Abel tells of his adventure, and Runi warns him that Rima is a witch and will capture his soul. Abel, of course, decides that his soul is already captured, and that he is in love with Rima. He returns to her, apologizes, and is forgiven.
