The Rings of Azar are twin spherical rings created by the pacifist spiritual leader Azar. Azar foresaw that the rings would play an important part in the destruction of Azarath's sworn enemy Trigon, and so she gave them to Trigon's young child Raven during a period of time when Raven was being raised on Azarath. When Azar died, her spirit housed itself within the rings awaiting the day when her power would be required once again. As an adult, Raven became corrupted by Trigon's evil and abandoned the rings and took her place by her father's side. Lilith Clay, a former member of the Teen Titans, was an empath who found herself drawn towards the rings. Unable to explain why, she returned to the Titans and explained that the rings played an important role in not only saving Raven's soul, but in destroying Trigon as well. Lilith accompanied the Titans to Azarath when Trigon's demon hordes laid siege to the temple. When the demons slaughtered the priests of Temple Azarath, their spirits also flowed into the rings. When the Titans were able to finally subdue the evil Raven, Lilith placed the rings back onto her fingers, upon which the souls of Azar and her priests expunged the evil from Raven's body. They then formed a soul-self of pure white energy which insinuated itself into Trigon's physical being, seemingly destroying him forever.
