Synopsis for "The Secret of Robin Hood's Name"

The Earl of Huntingdon returns from the Crusades only to find that his castle and his lands have been confiscated by Prince John for his support of Richard the Lion hearted. The Earl reveals that he has arrived in England on Richards behalf to confirm the rumors surrounding John and his attempt to overthrow Richard. The Earl also bears the ring of King Richard to show that he represents the rightful king. As the young Earl stands by the Castle he sees a Robin trying to escape the clutches of a powerful Falcon that seems bent on attacking. The Robin executes some impressive flying maneuvers and successfully escapes while leaving the Falcon entangled in a bush. The Earl proclaims that the Robin has the heart of a lion and it inspires him to stand up to Prince John and his tyranny. He then sees a coach being attacked by Prince Johns ruffians. The Earl gives chase and successfully fights off a band of attacking soldiers. A woman emerges from the coach and identifies herself as Julia countess of Lindley. She asks for the Earls name but he only identifies himself as Robin. The puzzled woman accepts his strange answer and awards him her personal hood as a token of her appreciation. Robin then discovers that he is missing the ring that was given to him by King John. Unbeknownst to him the ring is picked up by the attacking Falcon that he witnessed earlier. The falcon picks up the ring and delivers it straight to Prince John who recognizes it immediately. He correctly surmises that the Earl of Huntingdon has returned and he reiterates that he must be captured. A short time later, the Countess Lindley is captured and imprisoned in Princes Johns castle. Robin attacks the castle and rescues the lady from a tower. He darts for the woods as arrows fly in every direction to stop him. He escapes into the trees pursued by Prince John and his men. After a while, John gives up and yells to Robin that they will meet again. The countess asks for Robins full name once more and he replies that his full name is Robin Hood. That is the name he will use until he sweeps Evil Prince John from Englands throne.
