The Roving Ranger was a Texas lawman in the latter half of the 19th Century.

Jeff Graham was a captain in the Confederate Army during the American Civil War. Ner the end of the war, he was captured by the Union Army and almost executed, but he was saved in a bold rescue by his friend Bud Huston.

When the war ended, Graham returned to his home state of Texas and joined the Texas Rangers. Under their leader Major Hawks, the Texas Rangers roamed the state, taking down vigilantes and lawbreakers.

Graham once captured the bandit El Diablo. The actual thief was Bud Huston, a former Confederate officer who had once served under Graham. The situation was resolved when Graham was able to convince Huston to give up his criminal ways. [citation needed]
