Rusty and His Pals were three young seagoing runaways who had some desperate adventures.

In the 1930s, three runaway boys built a raft, put out to sea, got sunk in a storm, got rescued by a replica pirate ship, and undertook careers of seafaring adventure. The blond one, who did most of the talking, was called Rusty, and his pals were Specs and Tubby. They soon teamed up with a young adult, Stephan Carter, and they had a series of serious problems with a London-based foreign enemy named Chen Fu.
