HistoryEdit
A mysterious telekinetic who pretty much kept to himself, Ryan Kendall was adamant when he first appeared as the Black Condor that he was not a superhero. However, time was to prove differently. Styling himself at first an environmental champion, he soon found himself drawn into battles with villains such as the Sky Pirate and The Shark, and encouraged by his friend, park ranger Ned Smith (who was himself secretly in contact with the original Black Condor, Richard Grey, Jr.) to take a stand against injustice. Gradually, he came to accept the heroic mantle, and he fought the good fight alone and alongside others, notably Primal Force. Eventually, he went to Opal City, where he felt very much at home.
In time, Black Condor joined the Freedom Fighters, a team of heroes that his predecessor had been part of. Kendall was killed by a powerful beam (apparently fired by Sinestro) in an attack by the Secret Society of Super Villains when the team was sent to investigate a sighting of the Secret Society.
