History
Sammy Jaye was one of three criminals who shared the super-villain identity Trident, including the Prof who designed their weapon and an unnamed black man. They were all three former members of H.I.V.E. who struck out on their own to commit crimes and fight the Teen Titans. Sammy was known to have fought Beast Boy and Cyborg using this identity. He was later murdered by his partners and dumped in the river when they learned he had been holding out on them after a score.[1]

- Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-One era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985–86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and should be considered apocryphal.
