Synopsis for "The Python Final Act"
Over the course of this 4-issue story-arc, set circa 1939-April-early, the Sandman hunted and defeated the Python. (During this time, Italy annexed Albania, which happened on 1939-April-07.) The Python turned out to be fitness guru Jake Bonoir, ne Jacob Bernstein. Python was arrested alive. Dian splits for England.

- Lt. Burke got handcuffed and escaped from by the Sandman (10th time) after being punched out by the Python.
- At the end of this issue, Dian leaves for England. This directly leads into the one-shot special Sandman: Midnight Theatre where Wesley chases after her and has a brief encounter with his namesake, Dream of The Endless.
