Shadowcrest is the ancestral home of the Zatara family. When Zatanna inherited it, she used it as an occasional getaway and research base.

A mystical mansion, mystical wards and cloaking spells keep the location invisible and protect it from unwanted trespassers. Its location is always changing, never situated in the same place for long. Black Mary[1] and Uriah[2] were forcibly removed from the premises by the mansion itself.

The house is staffed and maintained by magical manifestations. Hassan the Mummy and several genies protect some of the deeper secrets of Shadowcrest.[1]

  • Private Library: Shadowcrest houses an extensive library of occult books, including information relating to key figures of ancient Atlantis and the Homo Magi. The entrance is a door marked with an Eye of Ra and is protected by Hassan the Mummy. The library has been maintained and updated by the Zatara family for thousands of years.[7][1][2]

  • Shadowcrest's address is 1964 Foxhawk Lane.[8] This is a reference to Zatanna's creator, Gardner Fox, and her first appearance in Hawkman #4 in 1964.
