Synopsis for The Joker: "The Great Pretender"

The police surround the maternity ward of a hospital, where the Joker and his goons have been giving toxin to babies. While the Joker tries to escape, the scene suddenly cuts to a window cleaner named Joe White, waking up in a hospital. Joe had been knocked unconscious after falling off a ladder, and his life as the Joker in Gotham City had just been a dream. He lives in a different Gotham City, where Batman and the Joker are paranormals fighting over the wealth of the city.

Joe goes home to his wife, who insults him for his hospitalization. That night, he has a moment of clarity and decides that though his life as the Joker had been a dream, he can become the Joker in this world as well. He puts on the makeup and dyes his hair green, and kills his wife. He then leaves to kill the city's original Joker who he sees as a "pretender". The Pretender Joker lives in a castle, Castle Arkham, and Joe steals a glider to get there. He crashes through the ceiling, landing in front of the Pretender Joker, but their face-off is interrupted by Batman.
