Synopsis for Inferior Five: "Conquer Man-Mountain Because He's There!"

Four old foes of the Freedom Brigade regroup and magically restore their vitality. The group, Vendetta, then seeks revenge on the children of their former opponents. The Inferior Five is summoned by police to help battle the crooks. They appear to be winning until a grenade created by the Masked Swastika changes glass-jaw boxer Brute Brainard into the Man-Mountain, a green-skinned behemoth. With Man-Mountain's help, Vendetta overcomes the Inferior Five. Then they strike the First National Bank. The Inferior Five recover and engage the crooks again. Merryman strikes a lucky blow to Man-Mountain's jaw and knocks him out. The other heroes then defeat the rest of the gang.

Notes

  • The members of Vendetta are all parodies of Marvel Comics' The Avengers, specifically during the series' "Cap's Kooky Quartet" day:
    • The Masked Swastika (Captain America)
    • The Sparrow (Hawkeye)
    • Speed Demon (Quicksilver)
    • Silver Sorceress (Scarlet Witch)
      • Later on, Speed Demon and Silver Sorceress both had their names adopted for characters meant as homage characters: DC Comics' own Silver Sorceress, which was another Scarlet Witch analogue, and Marvel's revamped version of The Whizzer, a villainous Flash stand-in.
  • Man-Mountain is a parody of Marvel Comics' Incredible Hulk.
  • Crisis on Infinite Earths: The Compendium states this is an appearance of Earth-Twelve.
