Shyir Rev is a member of the Green Lantern Corps.

History

Shyir Rev is one of the few Green Lanterns of Frontier Space who were killed by the Red Lanterns. During a brutal encounter with Razer and Zilius Zox, he sustained mortal injuries but was briefly saved by Hal Jordan and Kilowog. On the Interceptor, the three Green Lanterns went to Shyir Rev’s homeworld so that he could recover but they were traced by the Red Lantern Corps, who gave them an ultimatum: give the Green Lanterns to Atrocitus to murder them and live under Red Lantern protection or be slaughtered.

Shyir’s wife Biara Rev came up with a scheme to have Kilowog and Shiyar disable the bomb that would destroy their world. The duo could not disable the bomb in time but Shyir remained in the core of the weapon, using his willpower to make a shield that delayed the explosion until Hal and Kilowog could evacuate the planet. He saved his people from at the cost of his own life and their homeworld. His species honored him and his comrades by choosing to name their new home after him.
