Hey everybody, welcome to the DC Database!

If you have any questions about editing or just DC Comics in general, please don't hesitate to ask our friendly Administrators. You can also use our Forums!

The Administrators are working on how best to handle new pages for Prime Earth characters. You may notice new pages appearing in spurts. Please hold off on making new pages yourselves, until a firmer decision on the subject is made.

As indicated above, we are in the middle of moving and splitting characters between New Earth and Prime Earth as a result of the New 52's changes. This is complicated both in terms of coding and strategy, so please heed these messages.

Here's how you can help move the process along:

  • You should only be creating new pages for characters who did not exist before Flashpoint. Any new pages you make should use the "(Prime Earth)" designation, as per the naming conventions on this site. For characters appearing in other universes, the current convention is not to use a hyphen (so, "Earth 2" rather than "Earth-2").
  • Update Prime Earth characters' histories. Many of these are blank. That makes us sad. Please use a past tense, in-universe perspective.
  • Try to help update the pages for pre-existing characters (like Batman and Superman) with as accurate DCnU content as possible - but ONLY in the history sections. Make sure that information is separated from any pre-flashpoint history by a {{Post-Flashpoint}} infobox.
  • Do not create new pages for characters who existed before Flashpoint. Leave that to the Administrators for now.

In Other News:
Finally, please make use of templates when creating new pages and adding images, and be sure to fill them out as best you can. Most templates have a "Usage" section to help you out. The image template can be found here: DC Database:Image Template#Usage. All of the templates you need are available in the toolbar at the top of the edit box. If they don't show for you, check My Preferences/Editing, and enable "Show edit toolbar".
