Synopsis for "Unforgivable Acts"

Inside Saint Christopher Church, the police take away the body of the woman who the Reaver killed last night. In the vestry, Jim Corrigan finds the priest, who is barely alive. The police rush him to the hospital, since he is the only person who has actually seen the Reaver. However, he dies on the way, so the Spectre chases after his soul. Unfortunately, the soul has already reached Heaven, so the Spectre tries to go beyond the gates. He is stopped by Michael the Archangel. The Spectre tells him that he has sworn to protect an innocent life (Amy's), and the soul that will let him do that has entered Heaven. Michael responds that Heaven is off limits to him; however, the soul of Jim Corrigan may enter if he forsakes the world. The Spectre refuses and fights with Michael to gain access to Heaven. Michael defeats him and casts the Spectre back to Earth. The Spectre then goes to the Reaver's apartment and discovers that he knows Amy's address.

Outside Amy Beitermann's apartment, Lt. Nate Kane is standing in the rain, keeping watch. The Reaver (dressed in a suit and tie) recognizes him as the "hero cop" who blew the whistle on the "Reaver/HIV story". He realizes Amy now has a protector.

Meanwhile, Madame Xanadu senses that Amy's death is coming, and that the Spectre will try to stop it. She calls her on the phone, telling her that her doom is very close, and the Spectre will not be able to help her. She tells her to leave her apartment immediately.

Outside, the Reaver comes back to Amy's place and knocks Lt. Kane unconscious. As he is about to go upstairs to kill Amy, the Spectre shows up and attacks him. Azmodus then appears and offers to help the Reaver if he gives him his shadow. The Reaver agrees. With that, Azmodus is complete and ready to take on the Spectre. But he doesn't want to fight the Spectre on Earth, so he brings the Spectre to another realm, leaving the Reaver to deal with Amy all by himself.

To be continued.
