Star-Spangled War Stories #109 is an issue of the series Star-Spangled War Stories (Volume 1) with a cover date of July, 1963.
Synopsis for "The Last Soldiers"
A cargo plane carrying two soldiers and a new experimental tank equipped with a robot into the battle field is attacked by a flock of Pterodactyls, causing it's cargo -- and the two troops -- to parachute down to Dinosaur Island. They land on the back of a giant Dinosaur crossing a chasm on a fallen tree trunk. The combined weight of the Dinosaur and the tank causes the trunk to snap sending them to the ground below. While the fall kills the Dinosaur, the soldiers are saved from a fatal fall thanks to their parachute.
When they land in the water, the tank is water proofed allowing for the two soldiers to figure out their next course of plan. When the tank is attacked by a gigantic sea creature, they order the tank robot to fire upon the creature. The creature rises out of the water allowing for them to get captured by a Tyrannosaurus Rex. When they try to fire the cannon at the Tyrannosaurus they only succeed in getting it angry and it crushes the tank. The two soldiers manage to escape before this happens and they toss grenades at the T-Rex killing it. Recovering the robot they make a break for the beach.
There they are attacked by a Brontosaurus, they drop the robot and make a run for it, and as they hoped the Brontosaurus attacks the robot triggering it's booby trap. The resulting explosion kills off the creature and the soldiers are soon picked up by their Commanding Officer in a PT-Boat to report the incident.
