Synopsis for "Star-Crossed"

At Starfleet Academy: On his third try and with help from Carol Marcus, Kirk makes the best of a no-win situation by reprogramming the Kobayashi Maru test. Several years later Kirk is serving as First Officer of the Eagle when Carol becomes a member of the crew. They resume their relationship, but it's clear that Carol is too confined by Starfleet. Two months pregnant, she leaves Starfleet and Kirk, to be on her own.
