Stellar Studios was a major film-making company in the 1940's and was once owned by Sylvester Pemberton's family. In 1948, the studio was the site of a battle between the Justice Society of America and Evil Star. Three decades later, Stellar Studios was closed down in 1972. However, Sylvester Pemberton, who is the heir to the vast Pemberton fortune, learned that Stellar Studios is still part of his holdings and used the studio as the headquarters of Infinity, Inc.
Although Pemberton owns the studio itself, the city of Los Angeles owns the land it is built on. An agreement was reached whereby the city would rent the land to Pemberton on an open-ended lease, in exchange for Pemberton's financing Infinity, Inc. for Los Angeles. Infinity, Inc.'s headquarters takes up a small part of Stellar Studios, and Pemberton intended to restart making films there again. Infinity, Inc.'s headquarters would not last long, however, as Stellar Studios was reduced to ruins during a fierce battle between Infinity, Inc. and Injustice Unlimited.
