Steve Traynor is a veteran of the Neopolis Police Department, the Top 10, and greatly respected as its Captain. During World War II, at the age of 10, he adopted the alias of Jetlad, functioning as a daredevil pilot, shooting down numerous German aircrafts. After the War he was moved to Neopolis along with all the other "science heroes", where he met his future partner "Wulf". The two men became lovers and have been together ever since, despite the fact that Traynor has still not "come out of the closet" about his sexuality to his fellow officers. He is one of the main characters of Top 10: The Forty-Niners. Five years after the Ultima incident, Traynor was fired from his position, and succeeded by Major Cindercott and Hyperdog.
