Synopsis for "The Sacrifice of Kid Psycho!"

One day a strange turban wearing boy appears in Smallville, and happens into Pa Kent's store when Clark Kent is working. He becomes even more intrigued by the strangely garbed boy, when he asks for directions to Superboy's home. Curious to find out why this young boy is looking for Superboy, Clark changes into his alter ego, and is surprised when he finds the strange lad is able to create protective screens to protect himself and other from various threats.

Finally meeting the boy, he reveals himself as Kid Psycho, a being from the 30th Century who developed his powers at birth due to the fact his parents were exposed to radiations while fighting a space squid. As the last survivor of his home world, Kid Psycho would later try to join the Legion of Super-Heroes and have his membership rejected.

Piquing Superboy's curiosity as to why his fellow Legionnaires would deny a super-powered being with such useful super-powers, he agrees to travel to the 30th Century to find out why. Confronting the Legion, they learn that after examination the Legion rejected Kid Psycho's application because every time he uses his powers it reduces his life expectancy by a year. However, Kid Psycho still wishes to contribute to the Legion, and after some deliberation, Superboy convinces the Legion to accept Kid Psycho as a reserve member. Accepting the role and to act as a "secret weapon" should the Legion need him, Kid Psycho thanks Superboy before he returns to the 20th Century.
