Superboy's powers seem inexplicably on the wane, until Jonathan Kent learns that the tomatoes they have been recently eating have been impregnated by alien farmers with spores from a red-sun system. The action was an accident, and Superboy destroys the contaminated vegetables. In gratitude, the aliens want to reward Superboy, but are turned down. Thus, they reward Jonathan Kent, by telling him they will make his greatest subconscious wish come true in the future.
