Synopsis for "Reunion (Part I of II)"

In Smallville, Jonathan Kent suffers a horrible nightmare wherein he sees his wife Martha burst into flames. Awakening with a start, he goes to the kitchen to get a bottle of water. He finds Supergirl standing in the middle of the kitchen looking obviously distraught. Kara tells him about her involvement in the attack on Air Force One, and is terrified of what Clark will think of her. Jonathan consoles her and tells her he is confident that Clark will not judge her too harshly.

In Nebraska, Karate Kid and Una hop a freight train. Inside an empty car, they find a hobo who asks them if they are the "good guys or the bad guys". Una tells the old man that the Karate Kid is dying from a terminal illness. After dealing with a man named Mister Orr and his cybernetic guard Equus, they are hoping to find someone named Buddy Blank who may hold the key to helping them.

In Benkelman, Nebraska, Mister Orr contacts the local sheriff and warns him about terrorists armed with biological agents planning to derail a train. Equus intercepts the train and smashes into the front of it, causing several railroad cars to topple over.

Back in Kansas, Supergirl telephones her friends the Teen Titans. Wonder Girl tells her the news she heard about the train derailing, and Kara agrees to go and check it out. She hopes to sterilize whatever bio-agent is present with her heat vision.

At the Nebraska/Colorado border, Karate Kid and Una emerge from the wreckage. Sheriff's men come over the ridge and Una tries to hail them. They perceive her as a metahuman and open fire. Karate Kid rises to her defense and incapacitates the guards. Supergirl swoops down and snatches Karate Kid before he can do any more damage.

Meanwhile, Equus (who has remained hidden thus far) receives a call from his master Mister Orr. Orr admonishes him for his actions, citing that he never authorized any off-base operations.

Supergirl interrogates Karate Kid and asks him what he knows of the bio-weapon. Una recovers and begs Supergirl to let him go. She warns Kara that whatever is killing Karate Kid may also be the bio-agent that she is looking for. Supergirl suddenly grows dizzy, and her memory begins playing tricks on her. She seems to recall meeting Karate Kid and Una once before, but they were different from the people standing before her.

Suddenly, Equus arrives and pile drives Supergirl with one of the railway cars. He snidely remarks that he wanted to see if Supergirl truly was more powerful than a locomotive.
