Synopsis for "How Jimmy Olsen First Met Superman!"

Jimmy Olsen recalls the events that took place when he first came to Metropolis: he volunteered to test a scientist’s time-travel machine, which took him back to Krypton before its explosion. Jimmy took a job babysitting Kal-El, who would become Superman on Earth, and had several adventures with him, Krypto, and Jor-El and Lara before witnessing the launch of Kal-El’s rocket just before Krypton’s explosion. Jimmy evaded death by using the time machine to return to Earth in his proper era, but his memory of his Krypton adventure was wiped away by the crossing of the time-barrier. The time machine’s creator judged his device a failure, and Jimmy went looking for work. But Superman, who remembered Jimmy with his super-memory, got Jimmy a job as a cub reporter at the Daily Planet and gave him a secret signal-watch whose ultrasonic sound could summon him in times of emergency. Superman reveals to Jimmy the details of his adventure on Krypton. In the present, Superman jokes that Jimmy once spanked him as baby Kal-El--”A fine way to treat your future pal!”
