Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #6 is an issue of the series Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen (Volume 1) with a cover date of July, 1955.
Synopsis for "The King of Magic"
Jimmy Olsen has disguised himself as a bellhop at the Hotel Metropolis in order to try to get the scoop on an annual magicians convention. He also happens to know the magician Trikko is really a counterfeiter who has been using a "magic" money duplicator to defraud people out of money, replacing it with counterfeits of double the sum fed into the machine. Getting one of Trikko's fakes, he calls in Superman to help him capture Trikko.
That night Superman disguises himself as a masked magician named "Mister Magic" and puts on a series of magic tricks which are really using his super-powers in disguise. When "Mister Magic" pretends to have a magic hat and is welling to sell his secrets to the highest bidder, Trikko makes an offer of paying $25,000 which he feeds the line about doubling later. Of course when "nobody" is looking, Trikko is caught red handed trying to swap the money with fakes and is arrested.

Synopsis for "Jockey Olsen Rides Star Flash"
Having agreed to be the jockey for the Daily Planet for a charity horse race, Jimmy must maintain a weight of 125 lbs. to be able to ride the horse. Weighing in at 140, Jimmy needs to drop the weight in three weeks or be too heavy to ride the horse. In order to make sure that Jimmy sticks to a strict diet, Superman decides to lend a helping hand and prevent the boy from being tempted to stray from his diet.
With the deadline looming and being reduced to eating nothing but fruits and vegetables, Jimmy is constantly tempted to eat junk food, but Superman is around to stop him from caving in. As the deadline looms, Superman and Jimmy are shocked to find that Jimmy hasn't lost quiet enough weight and put Jimmy through a crash exercise regiment. They finally manage to shake off the last of Jimmy's weight by shaving his head at the last minute. His sacrifices not in vein, Jimmy manages to win the race.
Afterwards, he goes down to the lunch room at the Daily Planet and pigs out. When Clark Kent asks him about next years horse race, Jimmy quips that he'll worry about it later.

Synopsis for "100 Pieces of Kryptonite"
While patrolling out in the city, Superman sees a giant meteor of Kryptonite streaking towards him. Unable to dodge it, he smashes it through it before it can significantly weaken him. However, this spreads chunks of Kryptonite all over the city. When Jimmy comes to Superman's rescue, he hides Superman behind a wall of lead car batteries as he goes off to find all the chunks for the Man of Steel. Flying across the city in the flying newsroom, Jimmy appeals to the public to help him in this task, and asks people finding Kryptonite to bring it to the Daily Planet. Naturally, those of the criminal element are also informed and decide to keep chunks for their own personal Achilles heel against the Man of Steel.
When Jimmy learns of this plot, orchestrated by a crook named "Angles" who plans on collecting as much as possible, Jimmy is too late to stop the crook from amassing a large quantity of Kryptonite. With the majority of it gone to one location, it's safe for Superman leave his protection. The two track the Kryptonite to a warehouse. While Jimmy infiltrates the group offering them phony Kryptonite so he can gain the crooks trust and learn their plan. While Superman goes about the city saving people from various troubles, Jimmy learns that the crooks intend to stage a robbery, and inside the safe of "stolen" loot, they intend to load with Kryptonite.
When Superman shows up to stop the crooks, they are shocked to find the Kryptonite didn't work, this is because Jimmy had managed to slip into the safe and cover the material with a lead foil. Superman then tosses the safe of neutralized Kryptonite into the ocean and takes the criminals into custody.
