Synopsis for "The Dream"

After Lois Lane had a dream of Superman killing Lana Lang and destroying Metropolis and after the Kryptonian was attacked by a harpy, the latter woman flew to Nazi Germany and later Naples, where she was threatened by a Laestrygone before running into catacombs that contained a statue of a woman in armor resembling Lois Lane.

Meanwhile, Lois had another dream, but this time she was the champion of Lana, who was the queen of the Amazons, and was attempting to save her, while fighting an Olympian. Lois woke up on the plane to Munich, which was attacked by more harpies. Clark Kent changed into Superman in order to defeat the harpies and save Lois, but in the process, violated the restrictions of the Geneva Protocol and was subsequently declared an enemy of the Third Reich, who attempted to arrest him.

Notes

  • Metropolis is destroyed on November 22, 1963. In real life, that date is the day John F. Kennedy was assassinated.
  • Selina Kyle is mentioned as being the First Lady in 1963, and is mentioned as having been married to Bruce Wayne before her death in the next issue. This means that Bruce Wayne was President during the early 1960's at a minimum, and JFK never became President.
