Synopsis for "Smallville"

Clark Kent lives in Picketsville, Kansas. His parents had named him after the fictional superhero, Superman. Growing up, Clark had been teased and bullied for his namesake. He did however find refuge on an old tractor where he uses his Dad's old typewriter to write his thoughts down. Sometimes he goes hiking and enjoys just being alone with himself. On one of these hiking trips, he wakes up to find himself levitating up in the air, discovering that he has the powers of Superman. At first he just uses his powers to avoid his bullies, but later on he decides to save people in need of help.

This attracts a lot of attention, from reporters to paranormal experts to government agents. Curious to find answers to his new powers, he interviews himself with Wendy Case, the first reporter to write a story about him. Clark Kent decides to work with Wendy to reveal secrets about his past and have her handle the publicity. After a few meetings, he learns that Wendy had planned to record him via video camera, breaking her initial deal with him. Clark decides to go ahead and release his identity at the Picketsville Annual Halloween Festival dressed up as Superman.

Once he had arrived, a gas main which had been rigged by Wendy Case, explodes. Stunned at first, Clark tries to save as many people as possible, moving fast enough as to not be seen. The last person he saves is Cassie who is trapped under a beam. As he saves her, reporters including Wendy Case come across him. Clark then realized that Wendy had set the explosions to lure Clark out. He then pretends to lose his powers, which make him a local hero, having Wendy jailed, and earning the respect of his tormentors and Cassie.
