Synopsis for "Japoteurs"

The Daily Planet announces the world's largest bombing plane is finished. In the room of one reader the picture of the Statue of Liberty changes to the flag of the rising sun which he bows to. He later goes to the hanger where the aircraft is housed and blackjacks a guard Instead of leaving with the other pressmen Lois hides aboard the plane. The saboteurs comes out of the bombs and the spectators realize that something is wrong when the plane starts flying erratically. Lois sneaks into the pilot's cabin and radios the ground. After the field is bombed Superman gets aboard the plane but one of the saboteurs demands that Superman leave or he will drop Lois through the bomb bay. Even though Superman complies the saboteur drops Lois anyhow. While Superman rescues Lois the saboteur smashes the controls but Superman is able to prevent the bomber from crashing.

  • The saboteurs comment about flying the bomber all the way to Tokyo indicating it has a range (at least 5000 miles from the western edge of the continental United States) beyond that of any actual WWII bomber of the time.
