Synopsis for "Loving The Alien"

Swamp Thing finds himself on a planet which seems to be made up of biomechanical material. He does not realize, however, that the planet is a living entity known as Technis. Technis has existed for years; an island waiting for a suitable mate. All of those whom she encountered in the past were incompatible, and ended up being killed and absorbed into her body like food. She also retains their knowledge.

When Swamp Thing appears, jumping through The Green, Technis is wary of him. There is, however, something compelling about him. She is disturbed when he begins generating a physical body out of her own body. Sensing that he has tapped into something much more significant than he realized, Swamp Thing becomes frightened, and runs. Frantically, Technis attempts to track his movements across her surface.

Eventually, Swamp Thing tries to jump to another planet, hoping to escape Technis' pull, but she refuses to permit that. As he leaves his assumed body, Technis uses her Time Tower to perform a 'chronofracture' which reverses time to the point at which Swamp Thing had just arrived. Everything plays out as it did originally, except this time Technis is ready for him.

As he prepares to run, Technis' engines surround him, trapping him. Idly, she hopes that he can comprehend the tenderness within the tightening geometric embrace. Cables reach out to wrap around his limbs, allowing a platinum arm to reach out and cut him open, unfettered. Technis's mechanics then stab into the wound, beginning their union. She silences his cries of protest with soothing sounds, and begins to fuse with him.

Technis takes all of the information and biological data she needs from him, and lets his body fall through her reproductive system, seeing how what she had done to him would lead to the procreation of her race. Finally, she relinquished her hold on him, and Swamp Thing's consciousness left her, travelling further through space.

Later, Technis recounts the tale to her unborn children, hoping that one day, they will find love of a similar sort.
