The Earth of his Birth[]

The first of the Notes on Congo Bill's character page says "Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-One era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985–86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact." But that's wrong; Bill was introduced in More Fun Comics #56 (June 1940), which was during DC's Earth-Two era of publication.

So, on Bill's Talk page, there was a discussion about this, back in 2015. Okay not really a discussion, just a rant, about how Congo Bill, before becoming a New Earth character, was originally an Earth-Two character. No counter-rants, refutations, or corrections were ever posted, implying consensus (or more likely implying indifference), about this point.

But here's the point: the characterization of Bill as an Earth-One character is an error, originating on the (otherwise very useful) "Mike's Amazing World" index, and not from the original source material. It's a moot point, because since the COIE he's been a New Earth character, but back in the day he was from Earth-Two, not Earth-One. Huck Foley (talk) 07:22, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
