Seperate series?[]

I was thinking about jumping into this series and noticed that they are released as separate digital series and then released together in an issue (i.e. JL Beyond, Superman Beyond, and Batman Beyond first -- then all under Batman Beyond Unlimited). My question is, would it be easier to database these as their three individual series to make search easier for specific issues, and then treat the Batman Beyond Unlimited as a collected page of sorts? I just have had real trouble finding stories like Batgirl Beyond because of this confusing structure. Jsd1710 (talk) 22:39, August 30, 2014 (UTC)

We generally don't cover webseries, only their paper release. I tried indexing these, but I only have the digital chapters and couldn't find which comic had which chapters in which order. --Tupka217 17:16, September 2, 2014 (UTC)

We definitely need to have a big talk about how to cover digital-first and digital only releases. I think on one hand, using the comic template for the print release is still useful, considering that there is typically a trade release of the story later. On the other hand, having pages for the digital-first chapters seems like it might be useful too - but it would also be redundant, given the print release. However, there are digital only series (that DC doesn't even solicit, it turns out) that we could be covering, such as the Masters of the Universe digital-only chapters which are being collected in the TPBs along with the print-first He-Man issues, and I have no way of linking back to them when we don't cover them. - Hatebunny (talk) 17:25, September 2, 2014 (UTC)

Even if we created a simple digital first template that had basic information and then linked to an actual comic issue to eliminate redundancy -- that would work in terms of search efficiency. Or (I'll preface this by saying I has no idea if this would be a logistical nightmare, but since I'm a software engineer I would be glad to assist in developing it) we could create a function that reads the attributes from a digital-first template and prints it into the comic issue. I imagine it would look like Superman Beyond Vol #1 would have its own page with all of the history and appearance type data being housed on that page, and if you were creating the Batman Beyond Unlimited Vol 1 3 page, you would use a function like {{StoryImport|Superman Beyond Vol 1 1}} or {{DigitalFirstImport|Superman Beyond Vol 1 1}}. Then if somebody would like to edit the article, they just have to go to the source location. Jsd1710 (talk) 18:21, September 2, 2014 (UTC)
