Presidential Succession on New Earth (brief overview):[]
William Clinton
- president who became unpopular during "No Man's Land", ending circa Feb 2000
- succeeded by Lex Luthor
Alexander Luthor
- elected before "Imperiex" storyline, based on unpopularity of the "NML" president.
- impeached, and succeeded by his VP Pete Ross
Pete Ross
- briefly served as President following Luthor's impeachment but quickly resigned, succeeded by Jonathan Horne.
Jonathan Horne
- was president during JLA Classified Vol 1 26 Oct 2006
- also appeared in 52 Vol 1 24 Oct 2006
Martin Suarez (D)
- as candidate DC Universe: Decisions Vol 1 2 Nov 2008
- sworn in, some time before Supergirl Vol 5 44 Oct 2009
- succeeded by Barack Obama, after "Arcadians Affair" (including Freedom Fighters Vol 2 9 July 2011), but before "Reign of Doomsday" Action Comics Vol 1 901 July 2011.
Barack Obama (D)
- elected and sworn in, some time before "Reign of Doomsday", and
- still president at the beginning of NEW 52 universe.
THIS LEAVES OUT
Henry Knight (actually Gonzo the Mechanical Bastard)
- arrived in New Earth continuum after Infinite Crisis Vol 1 4 Mar 2006.
- became an exact duplicate of Senator Henry Knight, killed and replaced him, taking his place as President of the United States. Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters Vol 1 1 Sep 2006.
So:
Was he pre-Luthor?
- Hard to accept because Luthor was Pre-Infinite Crisis.
Was he post-Luthor and pre-Horne?
- Can't rule it out with the published evidence. I think.
Was he post-Horne and pre-Suarez?
- Same deal, no published evidence against it. I think.

- What makes most sense, of course, is: they completely forgot about him. --Tupka217 13:19, March 19, 2016 (UTC)
- Seemingly so, yet they never got around to retconning him out of existence. Therefore, his participation in Post-Infinite-Crisis New Earth continuity is a matter of record. Or so it seems. And IF that's so, then it ought to be accounted for in the timeline of New Earth ... er ... um, somewhere. Stoop Davy Dave (talk) 14:20, March 19, 2016 (UTC)

- Arg. It helps to remember that all of these presidential transitions and impeachments and electoral campaigns took place during Courtney Whitmore's sophomore year in high school. So it probably takes a pretzel-shaped timeline to account for them all. Arg. Never mind. . Stoop Davy Dave (talk) 14:48, March 19, 2016 (UTC)
