Family[]

So, for anyone else paying attention, Brightest Day: Atom retconned a bunch of shit about Ray Palmer's family. They were no longer a normal family, instead they're dysfunctional. They gave him a dead brother. Resurrected his dad, apparently... previously known to have died of cancer when Ray was a teenager, the kindly old man is now a still-alive bastard. Also, apparently he has an uncle named David on his dad's side. His dad is also named David. Who the f%$& names both of their kids David? It was a good comic, but that's a lot of retconnage. Are we going with David Palmer II (New Earth) for his uncle?

Guess so. Confused the hell out of me when I made the page. But in this retcon, Dad Palmer isn't given a name (as far as I recall, my issue's buried around here somewhere). We'd probably have to wait for the back-up feature in Adventure Comics to be sure. --Tupka217 14:43, July 27, 2010 (UTC)
Late addendum here... I've been slowly going through things and I've gotten to the Atom run in Adventure Comics from 2010. #521 wound up giving all three names: Ramons (The Atome), David (the uncle), and Jack (the father). - Byfield (talk) 19:45, April 8, 2014 (UTC)

Split[]

I think this needs to be split down the middle. Currently, the article contains all the Earth-One Atom stuff and all the various retcons from the 80s. I don't know what to do about the latter, but the Earth-One stuff needs to be in a separate page. --Ihu rules! 06:32, August 8, 2011 (UTC)

I agree with a split into Raymond Palmer (Earth-One) and Raymond Palmer (New Earth). IIRC, Brightest Day/the Nucleus Arc was the most recent retcon of his origin. --Tupka217 15:17, August 8, 2011 (UTC)
Actually, at this moment, I disagree with my old self. His history hasn't been radically retconned, and everything that's moved to the Earth-One page still counts in current (pre-Flashpoint New Earth) continuity. --Tupka217 (talk|wall) 21:49, February 6, 2012 (UTC)

Super-strength?[]

According to Power of the Atom #1's synopsis, Ray gained super-strength in that issue. Anyone knows if that was reversed at some point, or maybe retconned away? The current version of this article does not seem to mention it. LuisDantas (talk) 03:48, July 17, 2017 (UTC)
